Maximum Recommended Pixel Widths
The maximum recommended pixel width for an email message in Microsoft Outlook is 600 pixels. This width is widely accepted across the email design industry because it ensures consistent rendering across Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, and other major clients. 700-800 pixels may work, but can cause clipping or horizontal scrolling.
Outlook for the Desktop notoriously uses Microsoft Word’s rendering engine, which handles HTML and CSS differently from web browsers. Emails wider than 600–650 px can display improperly or cause horizontal scroll issues, especially on desktop clients.
When creating a message in Beefree, the Editor will allow you to create a message with a width as high as 900 pixels, but it is recommended you do a Preflight Test Send to verify it will render as expected on the Outlook desktop
