Depending on what you're working on, PoliteMail might use either points or pixels.
- The PoliteMail Builder in PMO measures fonts in points. This is true for both the formatting toolbar as well as setting font sizes for creating Brand Themes.
- The Beefree Editor defines font sizes in pixels.
Conversion reference:
Points have traditionally been used to measure font sizes for print: 72 points = 1 inch
Pixels are used more for font sizes for screen displays: In general, 96 pixels = 1 inch, although this may vary depending on screen resolution.
For example, if you specify a font size of 18 pixels, it will be approximately 0.18 inches high on screen, whereas 18 points would be 0.25 inches. This is why fonts may appear oddly small if you're thinking in points while the system uses pixels.
