Segmentation is a way you can compare how your email message performed by different distribution lists. For example, you have 2 different distribution lists covering the North and East regions of the United States and you’ve sent one email message to both of them. You want to know the metrics for each list and how they compare to each other.
To start, go to POLITEMAIL > Results > Messages. Double-click on the message in the Messages Data Grid to go the Report page. Once there, click on Segmentation.
- If Segmentation is greyed out, then you did not send to more than one list. You need to send to at least 2 distribution lists in order to segment them.
You will now see a list of all the distribution lists you sent your message to. You can either click on one specific list to see the metrics, or choose two to compare them (hold the Control key to select two lists).
Metrics should be read from left to right. The number displayed is the differential between the first to the second, in percentage terms.
Version 4.9x comparison metrics use a different visual format than that shown below.
